Lenormand Horoscopes for June 2016

It’s a magical month for you, Gemini, filled with dreams, reflections, and inspiration. You may notice how things tend to move in cycles, like the phases of the moon. Intuition, instinct, perception, and creativity are illuminated this month, and you have a chance to take full advantage of that. Significant numbers: 32, 5

Cancer: MAN (28)
It’s a “guy thing” this month for you Cancers – with the focus on a husband, lover, partner, soulmate, mentor, father, brother, or colleague. In this layout, he happens to be gazing towards the Stork (Leo’s card), so June could be calling your attention to an important new development. Significant numbers: 28, 10, 1

Keep in mind that whatever it is you are being asked to bear,  you have resources within and surrounding yourself that can ease that burden. Significant number: 6

Sagittarius: CHILD (13)
Such a great card for Sagittarius, the “eternal child.” Interaction with a child or an experience with your own “inner child” is indicated for June, and this could give you a fresh perspective on something you thought you understood. Keep an open mind and don’t let inexperience prevent you from discovering something wonderful. Significant numbers: 13, 4

Capricorn: FOX (14)
Be on guard for trickery this month, Capricorn! Someone you think you know may be manipulating you or using you to further their own agenda. Unfortunately, confusion and a tendency to daydream are both pretty common experiences for a Pisces, but this month those qualities could create more problems than usual. An issue or distraction comes at you suddenly, and you’ll need to sit up and take notice. Significant number: 6

One side of the path goes towards a body of water; the other goes uphill toward a forest. You do have options, whether you think so or not. Leo: TREE – HOLLY (5)
The appearance of the Holly Tree for you this month suggests an emphasis on health (body-mind-spirit) or your physical environment, Leo. The Holly is the tree of winter, and even if the literal season is not winter where you live, you may need to take a bit of a “winter” approach by looking inward or “hibernating” in some fashion for a time. Hola! It’s time once again for my Lenormand horoscopes. I hope you will find them fun and perhaps even useful!

This time, I am using my French Cartomancy deck (Lo Scarabeo). I shuffled the deck and then drew cards 1-12 off the top. Here we go!

Aries: LETTER (27)
You won’t need a ticket for an airplane, or have time to take a fast train. You’ve got mail! The news is important. Pay close attention, especially if it contains a warning. Significant numbers: 27, 9

Taurus: DOG (18)
Buck up, bulls. You may feel like crying, but friends you can trust surround you. Don’t give in to self-pity or reclusiveness. Significant numbers: 18, 9

Gemini: BEAR (15)
A conflict causes problems for you this month, Twins. If the dispute becomes unBEARable, seek mediation or clear the field. Significant numbers: 15, 6

Cancer: BOUQUET (9)
This month it is important NOT to let uncertainty or fear control you. Think positively. Considerable improvement is already underway. Significant number: 9

Leo: BIRDS (12)
Lions may get a job offer or opportunity this month, which could be a good thing. However, be sure you carefully examine the details before giving your consent. Significant numbers: 12, 3

Our slithery friend signals a possible betrayal for Water-Carriers this month, perhaps involving a dark-haired woman who seems kind and loving but isn’t. Significant number: 7

Pisces: CLOVER (2)
Good fortune is in the cards this month for Fishes – opportunities, success, perhaps even material gain. Make sure you don’t lose what you are given through laziness or negligence. Significant number: 2

Lenormand Horoscopes for March 2016

As I mentioned before, I know I’m not alone in doing Lenormand “Horoscopes,” but I do hope these will be fun and perhaps even useful for you!

This time, I am using Ciro Marchetti’s Gilded Reverie Lenormand (U.S. Games Systems, Inc.)

I realize that the Lenormand cards are meant to be read in “sets” rather than single cards. However, I am going to proceed, just to see what comes of it. The “Significant Numbers” listed at the end of each Horoscope are based on the numbers on the cards. These could refer to dates within the month or something entirely different.

I shuffled the deck and then drew cards 1-12 off the top.

Aries: TOWER (19)
The Lenormand TOWER represents a structure that offers protection and security. The question you Aries Rams need to ask yourself this month is whether this protective, secure structure (organization, institution, government) is helping you or hindering you. It is possible that you are “hiding” in your “ivory tower,” avoiding something you really need to become involved in. On the other hand, you may actually need to retreat to a fortress -- physically, mentally, emotionally, or spiritually -- in order to fortify yourself. Significant numbers: 19, 10, 1.

Taurus: CLOUDS (6)
Taurus Bulls, you may be faced with a confusing situation this month, one that creates uncertainty in your life. You can’t quite see the whole picture clearly enough to make a decision. Your perception may be blocked. This will not last forever, but it might be prudent to wait until things clear up before you take action or make a final decision in a matter. Significant number: 6

The “Significant Numbers” listed at the end of each Horoscope are based on the numbers on the cards. These could refer to dates within the month or something entirely different.

Aries: MESSENGER (1)
In February, a messenger (probably a man) brings news to you, perhaps delivered by Air Mail. This message may give you pause for thought, so take time to think and reflect before reacting or responding. Significant number: 1.

A letter, email, or fax arrives this month, requiring your attention and deliberation. The overall effect on your life depends on how you handle it. Significant numbers: 27, 9

Gemini: BLOCKS (21)

Taurus: TOWER (19)
A young, elegant, richly dressed woman looks out of the upper window of this Tower. The door is closed. No boat is in sight to carry her away. She is imprisoned by the authority of her father. Situations may arise this month where you feel alone, withdrawn, or separated from the rest of the world. Linked with the planet Saturn, this card is trying to teach you about limitations and how you deal with them. Significant numbers: 19, 10, 1

Gemini: OWLS (12)
A telephone call may bring worry, stress, excitement, or unrest this month. A feeling of instability prevails that may relate to a married couple or two older people in your life. The planet Uranus – planet of change and upheaval -- rules this card, so stay alert. Significant numbers: 12, 3

Cancer: PATHS (22)
A decision needs to be made this month, and the best choice may not be obvious to you. It also portends that your suffering will be relieved if you find yourself in an unpleasant situation. Here there is generosity and cordiality for all. The astrological connection for this card is the 7th House, House of Partnerships and Marriage. Significant numbers: 24, 6

Libra: CROSS (36)
We all have our cross to bear, as the saying goes, and this month you may be more aware of that than usual. But remember, your neighbor may be carrying an even heavier burden, so carry yours without complaint. You may have to go through a brief period of failure, but try to see it as a learning process that enables progress and growth. Here you experience the energy of the astrological 12th House, House of Sorrows and Self-Undoing. Significant numbers: 36, 9

Scorpio: SNAKE (7)
What is your initial reaction to this creature? Many people would say fear or loathing. That is because the once venerated, sacred serpent was degraded by Christianity and became a symbol of evil. Your interpretation is what is important here. You may interact with an experienced, intelligent, efficient older woman who can be trusted, or you may be in danger of going astray or being betrayed. Like the Japanese woman on this card who practices ikebana (the art of flower arrangement), you have an opportunity this month to experience and create harmony, peace, and beauty. The Lilies may also suggest an emphasis on a new partner and/or sexual adventures. A creative mentor or benefactor may come to your attention. Significant numbers: 30, 3

Capricorn: RING (25)
If you like it, then you better put a ring on it! It is in your best interests to create a serious, meaningful alliance or bond in either your personal or professional life. A circular theme may be evident this month, the sensation of going around and around. The loyal, determined zodiac sign Taurus is linked with this card. Significant numbers: 25, 7

Aquarius: CLOUDS (6)
As Simon and Garfunkel sang, “Cloudy, the sky is gray and white and cloudy / Sometimes I think it's hanging down on me.” It’s not clear what the clouds on this card mean, which contributes to your confusion this month. Disappointments, threats, or unstable moods are possible this month, thanks to Neptune, planet of illusion  – but these will not last very long. Eventually a beam of light will break through. Significant number: 6

Pisces: FLOWERS (9)
The highly social bumblebee buzzes around a bouquet of summer flowers on this card, portending good luck and friendship. You have every reason to expect success in a certain matter. You may need to fulfill an obligation to a female relative, friend, or colleague, but you will enjoy it. Make use of your natural charm and diplomacy. Jupiter, planet of luck and expansion, reinforces the beneficial nature of this card. Significant number: 9

Lenormand Birth Chart: Part 1

Part 1

Just for fun, I decided to explore my astrological birth chart using Regula Elizabeth Fiechter’s astrological associations for the Mystical Lenormand (AGM Urania). Feichter incorporates the 12 signs, 12 houses, 10 planets (or luminaries), Chiron, and Lilith into her system of associations for the 36 Lenormand cards.

I am covering my Sun, Moon, and Mercury in this blog post.

Sun in Sagittarius in the 4th House = The Key (33), The Clover (2), The House (4)

KEY/SUN: Although there is a Sun card in the Lenormand deck (31), Feichter links that card with the sign Leo, which is ruled by the Sun in astrology. She links The Key (33) with the astrological Sun.

CLOVER/SAGITTARIUS: In the middle, we have The Clover (2), associated by Fiechter with the sign Sagittarius. I don’t know for certain what her reasoning was, but The Clover card typically symbolizes good luck. Sagittarius is ruled by the planet Jupiter, Planet of Luck and Expansion.

HOUSE/4th HOUSE: It’s neat that the Fourth House (House of Home and Family) is linked with The House card from the Lenormand deck. Makes sense, doesn’t it? Also, the number Four typically represents stability and security – what we all hope to have in our house or home.

According to Feichter, The Key combined with The Clover represents “Luck” and “A matter has a good conclusion.” The Clover combined with The House: “Happiness in your home.” The Key combined with The House: “Stable home” or “New home.”

The Key to my identity, my Self, my spirit (Sun) is optimism, luck, and a sense of well-being (The Clover), providing stability, security, and a strong foundation (The House). A lot of truth in this.

Moon in Taurus in the 8th House = The Lilies, The Ring, The Coffin

LILIES/MOON – The Lenormand Lilies typically represent harmony, peace, purity, and innocence. Other aspects include family and sexuality. In astrology, the Moon represents emotions and the subconscious. This astrological association doesn’t work as well for me as others that Fiechter makes, but it will do.

RING/TAURUS – The Ring is about lasting alliances and connections like marriage or an employment contract. Long-term bonds are a fitting link to the sign Taurus, an Earth sign known for loyalty and reliability, a sign ruled by Venus, planet of love and appreciation.

COFFIN/8TH HOUSE – An appropriate choice here, as the 8th House in astrology is the House of Death, Taxes, Shared Resources, and Sex. As one astrologer puts it: “Physical death is inevitable and other symbolic deaths occur every day.” It’s all about “letting go” of an attempt to control one thing or another.

Feichter’s keyphrases:
Lilies + Ring = strong ties to family; sexual relationship
Ring + Coffin = widow or widower; end of a relationship
Coffin + Lilies = disease in the family; trouble with the family; no sex

My emotions and subconscious are deeply involved with family connections and/or problems. “Family” becomes especially important when we note that the Moon rules the sign Cancer, the sign linked with home and family in astrology. “Family” here clearly includes relationships with spouse, parents, children, siblings, etc.

Mercury in Capricorn in the 4th House = The Rider, The Mountain, The House

THE RIDER/MERCURY – I like this association, with Mercury being the planet of communication and the god Mercury being a messenger. The Rider often represents news or something new occurring. In this deck, he wears a winged helmet and winged shoes (further supporting the Mercury association).

THE MOUNTAIN/CAPRICORN – Feichter writes that “hostility, obstacle, blocks, stubbornness, and burden are associated with this card.” This interpretation works well with the zodiac sign Capricorn, an Earth sign ruled by Saturn, planet of lessons and limitations. (Also, I can't help thinking of a Mountain Goat!)

HOUSE/4th HOUSE: It’s neat that the Fourth House (House of Home and Family) is linked with The House card from the Lenormand deck. Makes sense, doesn’t it? Also, the number Four typically represents stability and security – what we all hope to have in our house or home.

Feichter’s keyphrases:
Rider + Mountain = wait for news; message leads to responsibility
Mountain + House = cannot leave, doesn’t want to leave house; block regarding house
House + Rider = mailman comes to the house; young man visits the house

My ability to communicate or deliver messages may hit large obstacles from time to time, especially in the setting of home and family. The Rider cannot move through The Mountain, but must go around, which takes a long time, before finally arriving at the destination.
